What is the Mobile Project?

The Wheels Mobile Project is available for hire Monday to Friday office hours and Monday to Thursday evenings. Our double decker bus is equipped with resources suitable for young people aged 13 to 17 years.

The lower deck is equipped with Playstations, twin record decks and a mixer unit, cd and cassette player, cooking facilities, magazines and information leaflets on issues relevant to young people.

We carry a generator so a mains power supply, although preferable, is not a necessity.

The upper deck has two computers and tables for activities of your choice. These may include arts and crafts, board games, balloon modelling, driving theory test training, drug awareness training….

We also carry some sports equipment for outdoor use, weather permitting.

Our Terms & Conditions of Booking

We supply a driver and will endeavour to carry all reasonable resources requested by you and agreed by us at the time of booking. (Our staff are recruited in accordance with HCC policies and have an enhanced CRB disclosure.)

Please ensure that the location chosen is suitable for a double decker bus, is accessible by a double decker and has adequate turning space or a suitable exit route.

You are expected to provide enough staff to properly supervise the young people you anticipate will attend. We require that you have at least one member of staff on each of the decks (upper and lower) at all times.

We reserve the right to refuse admission to any young person that we have reason to believe is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Project has Public Liability and Employers Liability Insurance. This is through the National Playbus Association and Zurich Municipal. Although we are insured against losses our excess is currently £250. Therefore, we require that the hirer is responsible for the first £250 of damage or loss.

Our Current Costs

We are flexible with bookings and will always try to meet the needs of the hirer. (We are usually asked to provide a three hour session.)
